Padel tennis is taking South Africa by storm, and Joburgers are in for a treat this weekend as the first ever FuturExotics Championship League of Padel tournament kicks off, with the opportunity to catch a glimpse of some of the world’s rarest luxury cars while rubbing shoulders with local celebrities.
The tournament will see 40 men’s and 40 women’s teams square off on the state-of-the-art 10by20 Padel Club’s courts at the Killarney Country Club in Houghton Estate, Johannesburg from Saturday, 8 to Sunday, 9 June.
As the headline sponsor for the event, renowned investor, entrepreneur, and founder of the FuturExotics Lifestyle Emporium Zunaid Moti will also be playing a few balls alongside well-known names such as J’Something, Ebraheem Dubai Bling, Ashraf Garda, and Audrey Garda.
FuturExotics is a premium, invitation-only luxury emporium that specialises in high-end cars, boats, aircraft, jewellery, and more. Adding a unique touch to the padel tournament, FuturExotics will be showcasing the Porsche GT2 RS, Ferrari 458 Speciale, McLaren 765 LT, Rolls-Royce Spectre, and the jaw-dropping, exceptionally rare Mercedes Benz AMG G63 6×6 Brabus edition valued at some R25 million.
“This promises to be a really fun-filled and jam-packed day you won’t want to miss, so definitely bring along your friends and family to catch all the action, and grab a few selfies in front of some of our eye-catching luxury vehicles and supercars,” says Zunaid Moti.
Further adding to the excitement, FuturExotics will be hosting a social media competition for visitors, with an exclusive track-day experience up for grabs.
The other big draw of the day is the chance to see some of the best local padel players go head-to-head on the court. Competitors from across South Africa, some as far as Cape Town, will have the opportunity to qualify for an international tournament in Botswana later this year. Prizes will also include cash awards, rackets, padel bags, and jewellery.
The event will also offer a variety of food stalls and the family-friendly atmosphere will ensure there’s plenty of fun for all ages, making it a perfect weekend outing for sports enthusiasts and families alike.
